Lecturely Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Lecturely collects, why, and what we do not collect. Lecturely is made by Pixra Yazılım ve Teknoloji Limited Şirketi(“Pixra Studio”, “we”, “us”), an app studio in İstanbul, Türkiye. We are the data controller for everything described here.

Who can use Lecturely

Lecturely is for people aged 13 and over.We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If you are under 18, you should have a parent or guardian’s permission to use Lecturely and to subscribe.

If we learn that we hold data from someone under 13, we delete the account and its data promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has given us data, tell us using the form on our contact page and we will remove it.

What we collect

Your email address, so that you have an account and can sign back in.

Your learning progress. Which subjects and units you study, which questions you have attempted, whether they were right or wrong, and scores from practice tests. This is what lets the app know where you are and what to give you next. It is the product working.

Your subscription status. Whether you have an active subscription, and when it renews or lapses. This comes from Apple or Google, not from you.

Basic technical information that any app receives: device type, operating system version, app version, and error reports when something crashes.

What we do not collect, and what we do not keep

These are commitments, not omissions. Each one is a thing we could do and have chosen not to.

We do not store the text of your conversations with the tutor. What you ask is sent to the model, answered, and not written to our database. We keep the fact that you practised a topic; we do not keep the words.

We do not store photographs of people. The math camera exists to read a question off a page. The image is used to answer that question and is not retained by us. Do not photograph a person with it, and do not include a face in a photo of your homework.

We never see your card.Subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple’s App Store and Google Play. Your card number, billing address and payment details go to them and never reach us. We receive only whether a subscription is active.

We do not sell your data, to anyone, ever. We do not share it with advertisers, we do not use it for targeted advertising, and we do not build a profile of you for any purpose other than teaching you the material.

The AI tutor, and what happens to what you type

Lecturely’s tutor is built on Google’s Gemini models. When you ask a question, what you typed — and, if you used the camera, the image of the question — is sent to Google to be answered, and the answer comes back to you.

Google acts as our processor for this. Under the paid API terms we use, Google does not use what you send to train or improve its models. Google retains material briefly for security and abuse monitoring under its own terms, and then deletes it. We do not keep it at all.

The tutor can be wrong. It is a language model, not a teacher and not an examiner. Check anything that matters, and read the Terms of Service for what that means for your grades.

Where your data lives, and for how long

Your account and progress are stored with Supabase, our database provider, on servers in the United States. Because we are established in Türkiye and you may be anywhere, your data crosses borders to reach us and our providers. We rely on standard contractual protections with each provider for those transfers.

We do not keep anything indefinitely. Specifically:

Your account and progress are kept while your account exists. If you delete your account, they are deleted within 30 days.

An inactive account — one not signed into for 24 months — is deleted, along with its progress.

Crash and error reports are kept for 90 days.

Records we must keep by law, such as those supporting tax and accounting obligations, are kept for as long as that law requires and no longer.

Who we share it with

Three companies, each doing one job, none of them permitted to use your data for their own purposes:

Google answers your questions through the Gemini API. Supabase stores your account and progress. Apple and Google Play take your payment and tell us whether the subscription is live.

We will also disclose data if the law genuinely requires it, or to protect someone from serious harm. We will tell you if that happens unless we are forbidden from doing so.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, delete it, or send it to you in a portable form. You can withdraw consent where we relied on it, and object to processing. You can delete your account from inside the app at any time, which deletes your data on the schedule above.

To exercise any of these, use the form on our contact page. We answer within 30 days.

Where Türkiye’s KVKK, the EU or UK GDPR, or a US state privacy law gives you rights beyond these, you have those too, and you may complain to your data protection authority. In Türkiye that is the Kişisel Verileri Koruma Kurumu.

Our legal grounds for using your data

We process your account, progress and subscription data because it is necessary to provide the service you asked for — the contract between us. We process technical and crash data on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the app working. Where a law requires consent, we ask for it, and you can take it back.

Security

Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is limited to the people who need it to run the service. We keep a written information security programme and a written retention policy, which is what the retention section above describes.

No system is perfect. If a breach affects your data, we will tell you and the relevant authority as quickly as the law requires.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect, and update the date at the top. Continuing to use Lecturely after that means the new policy applies.

Türkiye — KVKK

We are established in Türkiye, so Law No. 6698 applies to this processing and requires a notice in Turkish. It is at KVKK Aydınlatma Metni and states the same facts as this policy.
